Hello and welcome to the first media production blog carnival on the Media Production Blog. I was very pleased with the quality and quantity of the submissions. To get 16 wonderful submissions for a first edition is absolutely amazing. I want to apologize for not getting the carnival out sooner but I got hooked on this flash game and that brought blog-post production to a halt.
Publicity Carnival
We are going to start things off with a post that I really enjoyed called 21 Ideas for Hot Press Releases - Part 3 posted at Integrity Business Blog by Terry Dean. I am currently writing a book on blog publicity so this was a fascinating post for me. Of course, I cannot promise that my book will be written with integrity in mind but still this was an excellent post from an excellent blogger. I hope that you all enjoy it as much as I did.
Audio Production Carnival
We are going to follow up with a fantastic and inspiring article from Aaron Brandon who gives us a very insightful article called Creating Audio Products. His article is about how Audio Books are perceived as having a much higher value than E-books. This article really got me to thinking and I might change my book based on my new blog This Wasted Monologue into an Audio Book rather than E-Book. Or maybe, I can push the envelope and do a mixture of both. Aaron’s article was thought provoking and I think that his blog is definitely worth checking out.
Video Production Carnival
Robert Phillips returns to the Production Blog with a rerun of DVDs as a Lead Generator posted at How to Create a DVD without Spending a Dime. This article was a big hit on my last Film Junkie Carnival and we are happy to include it in the Media Production Carnival and we hope to have a new post from Robert for next week. He has great resources for video production.
We follow up an article from SARAHSPY who takes us behind the scenes of music video production with The Making of Feist's "I Feel It All" music video. I was very glad that she submitted this article because I had never heard of Feist and I enjoyed their music. I am going to get a couple songs off Amazon's MP3 Downloader with next month’s blog earnings.
Then Daniel Lafleche presents Sundance Film Festival 2008: Five Key Trends and Must-Knows for Indie Directors and Producers posted at Film and Video Marketplace Blog, saying, "What happened in Sundance this year." This is also a repeat from our Film Junkie Carnival but it was so excellent that I had to post it again. It's more film than video production but I didn’t have any other film submissions to group it with so please forgive me for grouping it in here.
Graphic Design Carnival
Nick Pernisco presents “Doodle 4 Google” Logo Competition posted at Understand Media Blog. This is one of my favorite posts of the carnival so definitely have a look. I am a lifeling Googler that has been captured by the “Cradle to the Grave” marketing campaign that Nick describes so well.
Byteful Project presents How to make a Wallpaper Mashup posted at Byteful Blog, saying, "Last year, I applied the idea of "mashups" (traditionally applied to mixing music) to graphic design. This article will teach anyone the thought-process a graphic design goes through when making a wallpaper mashup."
Marketing Carnival
We have some fine examples of marketing to show you on our marketing carnival tonight. First, we get a very short glimpse of Minimalist Marketing that Praveen saw at a 7-11 which is posted at My Simple Trading System.
Mark Riffey gives us a unique and new example of Political marketing: Mobile and phone support posted at Business is Personal. I am still getting used to the idea of Mobile Phones being used as a media production and integrated marketing tool but it’s really cool. A cell phone is basically a computer these days so it is only natural that it be targeted for advertising.
Misc Media Production
Rob Moshe presents Live Your Best Life By Serving Others posted at Rob Schaumer. He was worried that his article wouldn’t fit our carnival but that’s silly. He has a blog and that constitutes being a part of media production. That and we are happy to help out his project in any way possible. A post has to be pretty offensive for us not to post it. So thank you Rob for the very positive article.
John Crenshaw follows this creed of helping others with a post informing us of a recent bank scam that he endured. I am very glad that he posted The Biggest Scam Your Bank Gets Away With Everyday posted at Truthful Lending dot Com, saying, "This little known scam accounts for a huge portion of fees paid to banks every year and is going on right under your nose. The worst part is, it's completely legal." It was very informative and not surprising at all. What with this mortgage scandal, it’s pretty obvious that banks are as unscrupulous as ever. I truthfully wish that I had the money to invest in gold and precious metals.
We get some more business analysis from John W. Furst who presents Love Or Hate GoDaddy And Bob Parsons? posted at E-Biz Booster Blog, saying, "No matter what your position about GoDaddy is. Be sure there is something you can learn from them and apply it in your business. This was another excellent post and we hope that John will become a regular contributor.
One of our most prolific contributors, Sagar brings us home with the Top 25 Linux Games for 2008 posted at WHDb. All of our loyal readers here at the Media Production Blog know that we save the best for last and this week Sagar has that honor. We’ll make sure that we move him up to the front next week however.
That concludes the first edition of the Media Production Carnival. We hope that all of our great contributors will submit again next week and if you would like to submit your blog article to the next edition of a media production carnival, you can use our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
